What is the CNG Conversion Rebate Program?

A $2.2 million rebate program to supplement the state’s efforts to promote alternative transportation fuels.  The CNG Conversion Rebate Program will decrease our dependence on foreign oil and decrease our greenhouse gas emissions by providing an incentive rebate program to accelerate the use of alternative transportation fuel in Arkansas. The rebates will provide an incentive for fleets and individuals to purchase and/or convert their Arkansas licensed vehicles to compressed natural gas. Rebates will be given directly to individuals and fleet operators following their conversion or purchase of compressed natural gas vehicles.

Who may qualify and apply for rebate?

  • Eligible applicants are Arkansas state government agencies, institutions of higher education, cities, counties, school districts, private fleets, and individuals.

What is the rebate selection process?

To receive a rebate, interested parties must complete the reservation request form* and send it to the Arkansas Energy Office (AEO).  Once the AEO receives your reservation request you will be notified that it is in order and AEO will reserve your requested funds for 45 days. Applicant will then submit an application once work is completed.  If AEO has not received your official application and supporting documents within those 45 days, your funds will be reallocated.
